I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
